Avec sa nouvelle Box, dés juin, Orange va proposer plus de 300VOD en UHD, 8 matchs du championnat d'Europe en UHD, OCS Max en UHD, des matchs de L1 et de Rugby en UHD via Canal+. Donc ceux qui ont la fibre Orange auront accès à un paquet de contenu en UHD.

Il y a de plus en plus de films en h265/x265/hevc ..

Ce qui est faisable pour Vizio, un fabricant de TV destinés à la vente sur le marché nord-américain uniquement pour le moment est probablement faisable pour un fabricant de TV destinés à la vente sur le marché européen.
Apparemment, Vizio détient la plus grosse part du marché des TV aux US.

Le Vizio P-Series est livré aussi avec une télécommande-tablette (Android, 6’’, Full HD, dock de chargement sans fil).

Très bonne nouvelle pour la visibilité du format HDR en général ! On aura donc pas besoin d'attendre trop longtemps pour profiter aussi du HDR10 sur Netflix. Cela m'étonnait quand même de voir Netflix se couper du parc des tv Samsung pour le HDR...

Les principales entités de normalisation UIT/ITU, MPEG et DVB vont annoncer leur décision sur HDR en Octobre.

"This October is a big month in the evolution of beefed up Ultra HD standards, especially with regards to High Dynamic Range. This will lead to the first Phase-2 launches in early 2017 and Sky Deutschland hinted it will limit HDR to UHD services rather than dilute it down to HD.
A number of announcements related to UHD/HDR are expected from various industry bodies is October, when the picture should look a lot clearer of what a key part of the next-gen ultra HD experience will look like. ITU-T and MPEG are planning to conclude their work on HDR that month, at which time the DVB will then also approve the ‘UHD-1 Phase 2’ specification. Some markets require backwards compatibility with Phase 1 but others don’t."

Hollywood a choisi les technologies HDR basées sur la fonction de transfert PQ (SMPTE ST2084 EOTF) : HDR10 et Dolby Vision notamment.





HDR dans le monde de la télédiffusion :
Deux fonctions de transfert sont en compétition : PQ (SMPTE ST2084 EOTF) et Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) proposée par BBC / NHK.
Apparemment, le nombre de nits maximum des TV HLG ne dépasse pas 5.000 nits, contre 10.000 nits pour les TV PQ (HDR10 / Dolby Vision).
