This year Q90R will also have 480 individually controlled LEDs behind the screen, but weaker models are considerably improved. Unofficially, Q80r will have a nice 240, and a Q70R 120 zone blackout.
This is more than enough for a visible offset in quality compared to EDGE LED, and it's enough that Samsung outdoes the great Sony XF9000 series (80 zone).
